As part of its public engagement and outreach, the Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GYEITI) recently made a donation to a number of schools located along the East Coast of Demerara. Donations were made to the Victoria Primary School, located in Victoria ECD; the St Andrews Primary School and the Swami Purnananda Primary School, both located in Cove and John, ECD. The purpose of the donation was not only to make available to the student’s tools that will help them on their educational journey but also to impart important information regarding the country’s extractive sectors and the work of the GYEITI and its related stakeholders to is hoped that the students and teachers will now act as change agents. We encourage the public to like and follow our Facebook page for updates on all our public engagement and outreach activities as we seek to engender conversation and debate around the transparent and effective management of Guyana’s natural resources.
