As Head, GYEITI Secretariat &National Coordinator, Government of Guyana, I met Virtually last Friday (May 27, 2022) with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Team. Ms. Alina Carare was the IMF Mission Chief, as part of the IMF Article IV Consultation. We discussed several matters, including the Validation score; progress and recommendations; relationship of the mining companies with the GRA; status of GYEITI in relation to the other counteries’ EITI; transparency, accountability, and good governance; and the Imminent Independent Administrator’s Fiscal Year 2019 Report.
