Expression of Interest
Convener of Civic Society Organisations for Participation in the Guyana EITI Process
- NGO or civil society organisation duly registered and active under the laws of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana for at least 5 years; or a Guyanese citizen with a minimum of 5 years of active engagement and support to civil society organisations. Organisational applicants must demonstrate a broad reach of their activities nationwide.
- The organisation and its leadership must have met all tax filing requirements with the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) and local government authorities over the past five years; an individual applicant must submit five years of tax filing records.
- The organisation and its leadership members, as well as individual applicants, must be in good moral standing, free from any ethical issues, and commit to not exhibiting any conflicts of interest in this role. Examples of ethical or moral issues would include prior conviction(s) of crimes under Guyanese laws and/or pending litigation before the courts.
- The convener will have no interest in participating in or serving on the MSG as a member covering the period it serves as convener.
- The EITI Champion will appoint a convener(s) from a pool of applicants who will serve this role for two MSG cycles (6 years)
