Building on the progress from the 2024 Youth in Natural Resources engagement, GYEITI continued its youth outreach on 30th July 2025, hosting a session on Natural Resources and the EITI process in Guyana at the GYEITI Secretariat.
Facilitated by Mr. Renrick Ramgobin, the session brought together 19 participants and focused on strengthening understanding of the EITI framework, Guyana’s reporting process, and the importance of transparency and accountability in the extractive sector 🌱
Highlights:
- A continuation of youth engagement efforts following the 2024 programme
- Introduction to the global EITI Standard and Guyana’s implementation journey
- Interactive Q&A session with strong participation, including questions on MSG selection and the use of EITI data in decision-making
- Group activities encouraging teamwork, critical thinking, and presentations on natural resource governance
- High level of engagement and enthusiasm throughout
