Collaboration. Transparency. National Dialogue.
From May 15–17, 2026, GYEITI proudly participated in Guyana Festival 2026 at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence,
a signature event of the country’s 60th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
Booth #3 became a hub of learning and interaction, where the GYEITI Secretariat and Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG)
representatives engaged with hundreds of citizens from all walks of life which included students, academics, professionals,
investors, parents, researchers, and the wider public.
What visitors experienced:
- Informative GYEITI publications – including the GYEITI FY 2023 Report, Data Dissemination Bulletin, Newsletters, and brochures.
- Fun and memorable interactions with the GYEITI Mascot – a festival favourite that drew children, families, and adults alike to Booth #3 for photos, questions, and learning.
- QR code engagement – visitors scanned QR codes to instantly connect with the GYEITI website and Facebook page, making it easy to access reports, bulletins, and updates on the go.
- Meaningful conversations on extractive sector transparency – discussing how natural resource revenues are governed and why accountability matters for every Guyanese.
- Clear explanations of Guyana’s commitment to the EITI Standard – breaking down complex governance frameworks into accessible, easy-to-understand information.
- Direct digital engagement – visitors followed GYEITI on Facebook, explored the website, and joined an expanding online community committed to transparency.
