The Guyana Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (GYEITI) is pleased to publish this Special Report highlighting key discussions and outcomes from a high-level engagement session hosted by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance (MPAG) on 21 April 2026.
The engagement brought together representatives from government agencies, oversight institutions, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders to examine issues relating to transparency, beneficial ownership, anti-corruption, accountability, human rights, and governance within Guyana’s rapidly evolving development landscape.
The report outlines key discussions on strengthening beneficial ownership disclosure systems, enhancing anti-corruption frameworks, promoting human rights and public participation, and improving institutional coordination and information-sharing. It also highlights opportunities for collaboration between GYEITI and national oversight bodies to support stronger governance, improved data integrity, and more effective transparency reporting in Guyana’s extractive sector.
This publication forms part of GYEITI’s ongoing commitment to fostering informed public dialogue, strengthening accountability, and supporting the transparent and responsible management of Guyana’s natural resources.
