EDUCATION AND AWARENESS OUTREACH

In keeping with EITI Requirement 7.1, which seeks to encourage ‘Public Debate’, a series of consultations were done by the Guyana EITI Secretariat in conjunction with the Multi-Stakeholder Group (MSG). These consultations provided a synopsis of Guyana’s EITI efforts and progress, since officially becoming an EITI member in the year 2017. In addition, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and to voice any concerns they may have with the EITI process in Guyana. All questions and concerns raised were addressed by the Guyana EITI Secretariat. The first round of consultations is listed below:

  1. Linden, Region Ten (attended by 12 stakeholder groups)
  2. Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), Youths in Natural Resources
  3. Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI)

More details on these consultations can be viewed by reading our Newsletter Issue #1.
